Born in Johannesburg to a Catholic mother and a Jewish father Michelle Friedman practises Catholicism until her father divorces her mother and at fourteen converts her to Judaism. So begins a spiritual journey leading to Padre Pio a priest who bears the stigmata followed by ten years as a Catholic nun.
